Towns on the edge #1 - Ronda, Spain

Have you ever wanted to live on the edge? Well, these townfolks literary lived it daily! I chanced upon a photo-journals of Anna Gubkina in a blog and now I've new destination goals as I think these are characteristic towns that will erode away with time, if not visited before that happens!!

Ronda Town in Spain is my first choice of 5 listed in the blog. It is a dramatic town filled with nostalgic history at every turn and street. It is like looking at history being alive today!

Snow Monsters of Zao, Japan

It is advised by many bloggers and forum advisors to visit in Early February to Early March. It is said that the Yamagata side of Zao Mountain (san) is the good place to visit....

Quoted from the Tohoku guide-site :

On the Yamagata side of the Zao Mountains, the Ice Monsters are lit up in magnificent colors every winter from 17:00 - 21:00. After getting off the ropeway, tourists find themselves in a totally unexpected world. What expands before their eyes is a landscape that is mysterious and unearthly. Witnessing the wondrous display of the monstrous ice figures and light, people are rendered speechless. Ice Monsters can be seen towards the end of January if weather conditions are favorable, but the best season is towards the end of February through the beginning of March, when the weather is stable.

So let's plan a trip to this part of Japan in February!
